The two new tires at the front are Capitol 185R14C 8P.R. (From the tire it also said 102/100P, Radial SV-820, 65psi). The diameter from surface to surface is 25 inches. I inflated the front tires to 45psi. Not sure this will help. By the way, it has autotrans, I have never seen the van drove over 70 mph at 3.8k rpm. Just my wife and I on the van, and it should be considered light load. This is the multivan, does not have the heavy kitchen stuffs. The wind was around 5-10 mph, not bad.

On the vanagon manual tran each k in rpm is approx 19mph so at 3.8k approx 72 mph and 4k about 76mph. The front tires go to the speedo and any change in size will cause change in the reading of the speedo. What size tires are you running? Sounds like you are running a larger than stock diameter tire now.
