Hi Robert,

My 91 Carat cruise must be held in to accelerate. It will not take a "pulse" to bump the speed up by a 1 mph increment, like our 91 Park Ave cruise. As for the engage, I'd guess you may have a dirty contact in the switch or column. I've never looked for this on my. I did have a aftermaket Dana cruise, and had to open the switch up a couple of times in the 15 years I had the car, to clean the switch contacts, and then it would engage instantly again
