The stock route for the wires is up the pillar, over the passenger door, then down to behind the glove box. That is the way my '86 VanagonGL came. Also, note, the stock version of the locks is a 3 wire system to the slaves, rather than 2 for the aftermarket. The Masters in the front doors have 4 wires, to allow for a 12V feed. I have also been told that the aftermarket actuators bolt up in the stock locations, if you are repairing an existing installation. This is excellent. Thanks for the writeup. Any tricks for running the wires to the sliding door? I tried to run speaker wires to the rear speakers through there with no luck. They seemed to get hung up somewhere above the passenger door. |
