Hi Folks, Well I disconnected my Idle Stabilizer (the one that hooks to the firewall, not the one behind the r. tail light) since I could never feel any vibrations that indicated it was working...and then quickly reconnected it after engine kept surging from low rpm idle to high rpm idle. Guess it may not vibrate but it does "stabilize the idle" ;-) Now I will take it to my mechanic and have him reset my timing, increasing the rpm's a bit. Also have him check the Temp 2. I actually have an old Snap-On timing light around here somewhere and am tempted to try it myself. I have heard that you can really screw it up bad if you don't know what you are doing. Does it seem like a hard job to you folks? Any tips before hand? Thanks again. James in Houston, Tx. 87 Westy (The Phoenix) |
