This could be the coolant level sensor. The main coolant tank has a sensor to warn you if the coolant level is getting low. The early models such as yours came with a coolant level relay that pegs the gauge and blinks the red light whenever it thinks the coolant is low. Often just unplugging the wires to the sensor and reconnecting them will clear up the flashing Mark
