Hello Fellow Volks Folks, We are one month away and we are counting down the days until the Third Annual Buses By the Beach Campout and Burn Survivor Charity Car Show May 20-22 in Grand Rapids,MI. In this update we have the weekend itinerary and interesting web site stats. If you have not seen the new web site yet you should check it out at www.busesbythebeach.com <http://www.busesbythebeach.com/> The new forum on the web site is also a great place to get information about our event and bus related topics. If you have not yet signed up, please do so. I thought you might find these web site stats interesting. Hits on our web site per month: Jan: 5603 hits per month Feb: 6858 hits per month March: 6480 hits per month April as of 4/23: 4129 hits It is great to see our little web site getting that much activity. I hope everyone is enjoying its content.

The Spring Buses By the Beach Burn Survivor Car Show and Campout Itinerary:

Friday May 20, 2005 * 2:00 p.m. Check in at Grand Rogue Campground. Make sure you register for Sunday's Canoe and Kayak trip if you are interested in going. * Community campfire and conversation. This is a great time to get to know fellow bus pilots. Musical instruments are welcome (campground quiet hour is 11:00pm) Saturday May 21,2005 * 8:30 a.m. Line up for carabus (caravan) to Burn Survivor Car Show (Yes, we know its early, but it's worth it and its for a great cause!) * 8:45 a.m. Leave for Car Show. We will be escorted by the Plainfield Fire Department Presidential Motorcade style with lights and sirens. It's really cool to see everyone pulling over for a line of buses! * 9:00 a.m. Arrive and set up at car show. Monster truck rides, Auction, many fun activities for the kids. And next door is AJ's Family Fun Center. http://www.ajsfamilyfun.com/ Reclaim the Award for best club participation. * 12:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. Herbie and Friends Cruise Across America: Celebrating 50 years of the Karmann Ghia. Featuring Herbie the Love Bug and an estimated 100 Karmann Ghias. http://www.karmannghia.com/treffen.html * 12:30 p.m. Lunch on us! That's right FREE lunch to all Buses by the Beach volks that got up and cruised to the Car show. No donation necessary, this is just our way of saying thanks for supporting the Phoenix Society for Burn Survivors. Thank you to Juke Box Joe's for donating the box lunches. * 3:00 p.m. Pack up and head back to the Grand Rogue Campground. * 5:00 p.m. DINNER Chili cook-off. 8 Buses by the Beach Veteran families will prepare a pot of their favorite chili. Dinner is free but we will pass the hat for donations go to the Phoenix Society for Burn Survivors. * 6:00 p.m. Raffle! Everyone's favorite Raffle Captain Pete takes the stage with a plethora of VW related prizes. * 7:00 p.m. Community campfire and conversation. Your choice of the following activities: * 7 a.m. Caravan to Michigan Vintage Volkswagen Show in Ypsilanti MI. It is just a little over 2 hours to drive to one of the premier VW events in the Midwest. * 11 a.m. Two hour canoe and kayak trip down one of the most scenic stretches of the Grand River. Either bring your own boat or rent one from Grandrogue Campground. Make sure you register at the Campground Office when you check in on Friday. As you can see we have a ton of fun activities planned for this great weekend. We can not wait to see everyone again and we are looking forward to meeting new friends also. Everyone is welcome no matter what they drive or camp in. Please feel free to contact us if you have any questions or require special arrangements for your camping needs.
