On top of the tank on the left side of the engine should be a black screw-in plug with a two pin connector. The wiring from that connector goes into the temperature gauge system and causes the light to flash if the coolant level drops below the ends of the two electrodes on the bottom of the plug. Check for a good connection at the connector, or broken wires around it.
