I know a lot of people like EZ outs, but I have never gotten one to work successfully, ever (and I was trained as a machinist at one point in my life!). Maybe because if they haven't come out by the time I'm through with my other tricks, they simply aren't coming out. Anyway, when things get tough I reach for the drill. The only tricky part if finding the exact center of the bolt to put a punch mark in to get a pilot hole going, then follow up with progressively larger drills until you're just inside the threads, then chase out with a tap. Use a drill press is you can to drill the hole in straight, otherwise develop a good eye. Use plenty of oil in the process and use good sharp drills. Anything else is just messing around, go for what's really going to work.

If you need specific details, email me.

Jim
