Well..... New heads are at 1 3/4 turn IN wile those lifter calm down and
the new valves seat well...now back to 1 turn...but they are NEW heads...
Temp2 is new like everything else....but a bad ground wire or a bad
Temp2 sender connection is possible...even a faulty temp2 sender is a
possible cause.

About the fuel smoke, at start up ONLY, gone after 2 minutes...that is
one problem, the second problem is some stange behavior at normal speed,
like lost of power, surge...bucking....but when the O2 is unplug,
everything is back to normal!!!!

The O2 is nor OEM and his a cheaper one.... i think it's made by NGK....
I agree, the O2 is not responsible for the fuel surge at start up...but
it's a Vanagon, you never know.

I will have the van back tomorrow and...find the problem...like i always
do, i will keep you up to date.
It is quite normal to to have a few glitch when you put engine in pieces
like i do.
