The color you ask about is VW's Light Grey  L345

I know, it does not look grey, but that is the name they gave it.

They also had "Slate Blue", which to me looks like battleship grey.

The colors offered on VW of Canada Transporters were: Pastel White, medium
Blue, Slate Blue and Light Grey.
