Both Bentley and Haynes, if you can afford them. The Haynes (about $25) is more user friendly, but does not include the camper equipment. You can sometimes find the Bentley on E-Bay. Bentley IS the workshop manual. The CD you want is the ETKA, same thing the VW parts people use, with exploded parts diagrams and part numbers. Hopefully, someone on the list will volunteer to furnish you with one. Read the msgs and watch for references to members web sites. Many have valuable how-to information. Here are a couple: http://volksweb.relitech.com/ http://www.vanagonauts.com/Vanagon_Rescue_Squad74.htm There are many more. Start a Favorites folder for them. You are well on your way, having learned about the archives! Welcome to the list and enjoy your Vanagon. Jerry

('84 Westy) reference book (and they're not cheap) so my question to the list is this: > > What reference book do you recommend? > > 1. Bentley > 2. Hayes > 3. VW CD-ROM (anyone what to burn me a copy?) > 4. Vanagon Workshop Manual > 5. Others... > > Thanks for any hints.
