8mm x 1.25 is the diameter and pitch. i don't know for sure about the 2.1 but the 1.9 uses a combination of bolts and studs. since the holes are blind holes you probably want to get a bottoming tap to clean them up. welcome to the list, i have a scirocco I also :). as a matter of fact i just towed a 81S to the junkyard tonight after parting it out.
