This is mostly just side project to play with on slow days at work, but whatever I find, I will definitely make publicly available. I'll have to see how complicated the system is before I know whether it'll even be within my ability to simulate it cheaply/easily. Being that it appears to be a pretty straightforward analog circuit, it may turn out to be easier to simply build an identical one from scratch! If it turns out to be cheap and easy to do (either a replica analog, or a digital work-alike), I'll definitely make the schematics and such available. Dunno about building 'em though. I might do a few. This is all speculation, of course, and it's all entirely dependent on what I find when I take a broken one to pieces and map the circuit board. I have a spare that I've opened up and "eyeball traced", but it's built on two multi-layer boards connected by a brittle and scarily flimsy looking ribbon connector and I can't follow a bunch of the traces. Heck, it might even turn out to be easier still to just fix the old ones. I'll know as soon as I get one to prod...
