Subject: Re: Need Automatic Transmission

Hello, I dont know if this will help you,but I can tell you what is on the inside of your transmission.Bently pictures will help greatly here. The pin I think you are talking about seats at the base of one side of the second gear band. The band itself is a circular piece of metal w/friction material on it.It does not form a full circle, but has a gap of about 4 inches at the base of where it is installed. The pin actuates the clamping of this band when activated,When activated, the circular band now is a nearly complete circle.Very difficult to exlain.Anyway, to fix this , the pin will have to be repositioned by hand.To do this , the valve body must be removed (very easy),and the second gear adjustment screw will have to be backed way off. This second gear screw contacts a pin , probably just like the one that is out place. It is the pin on the opposite side of the base of the second gear band. When working correctly, the piston pushes on one pin , and the second gear adjusting screw pin(whew)holds fast. This squeezes the band tight. The squeeze can be adjusted with the second gear adjusting screw.I think yu must remove this adj screw all the way out, remove the valve body, install the piston pinand piston, install the adj screw pin and screw, and then the valve body. 2 hours work.Once again this is easy easy easy.If you need help, I will tellyou the details of valve body removelGood luck, Roger Sisler
