Subject: Re: AC mounting
The sanden 508 is used on many vehicles. These compressors, and others can
be mounted in any direction. There is a company called Ac source.com(I
think).Your most importiant tools will be a vacum pump(rent!), and a flush
gun(buy!).$40 for a flushgun is a super investment that can only be
appreciated in hindsight.Flush itself is muy expensively.More so than fine
wiskey($80/gallon-no kidding),however I understand no flush is approved for
134A.Could be wrong. I have used mineral spirits((cheap) (2 gallon per
vangon)) for r-12 systems and have no problem. It condenses and can be
drawn out of the ac system easily w/ vacum pump.80 percent of the old oil
must be removed when converting to 134a or the oils will mix and turn to
unlubricating mud.Green o-rings are universal.Expansion valve needs
replacement and r-dryer too.A air compressor is a must.Need to pressurize
your flush gun ,and blow out the lines after flushing.Oil ammounts are as
follows:compressor (if 508 -8oz inside the plug and one ounce in the
suction port-1 oz in the r-d- 2 oz in the evaporater-2oz in the condenser-
2oz for the hoses placed in the discharge line where it leaves the
compressor.Ester is universal oil
