It is usually 17 on the hiway. Strange. Well, when I put my Boston Bob engine in this weekend, I shall endeavor to keep the mpg down to 17 so as not to upset the applecart! The very last long, flat stretch I drove on that original engine was from near Yosemite to Bakersfield, CA , 144.7 miles on 7.45 gallons = 19.39mpg, and previous averages sat closer to the mid 18's.
