I finally managed to start the car. Unfortunately non of the advice I got helped. I discovered one wire to be at the wrong location in the plug. But worse, the timing was 180 degrees off. I had to pull out the gear and relocate it to be able to put the distributor back to the right timing. It is an air cooled engine. Still needs a thermostat and exhaust gasket change. Compression is 155 all over. Runs great and the interior of the camper is like new. It is an '82, white, new windshield, tires, etc. I will put it up for sale. Zoltan |
