Just completed a 2000 + mile journey from los angeles to portland oregon in my 85 vanagon with no problem. My band and I took it fully loaded with equipment from los angeles-->oakland-->davis-->portland-->sanfrancisco-->long beach-->san diego-->riverside-->los angeles. it was a blast. everything went well except for oakland where my van got broken into and my stereo got stolen. one thing i noticed though was after driving for a few hours and coming to a stop the idle does this weird fluctuation thing. the tach will fluctuate up and down, nothing too extreme but definitely noticable. is this normal? the engine does not do this when it is cold. it only seems to appear after driving for an hour or two. is this symptomatic of a fuel pump about to go? thanks, steve |
