Crud in the tank intermittently clogging the fuel filter? You can cut open
the used fuel filter to see if there is a bunch of junk in there.

Two weeks ago it had a tune up, with new plugs, wires, distributor cap and
rotor, air and fuel filters, and O2 sensor, all to make it pass NJ state
inspections. I have not put techron in the tank. Here is what's odd: I
ran it
down to a half tank last week (put in 18.9 gallons), then Saturday put in
15.7
gallons. Drove it a few hours with no issues, it ran like a top. Then
Sunday I drove 20 miles or so, no problem, it was only on the way back that
this
started.
I'll try the techron thing, see if that helps. Thanks for the input.

When's the last time you changed plugs, points, wires, cap, rotor, and
ran some techron through the gas tank? The "low point" of my 2.1's life
was about 5 or 6 years ago, and I thought I just had an old car that
wasn't going to get any better--but I was wrong!
