About 3 seconds. Guess I could always retrofit new-type glows which
don't need time, but there shouldn't be a problem.

If there is some sort of lockout there would be no legality problem.
Probably a $2.00 microswitch on the shifter.But how would the
authorities know one was fitted anyway?
