just squirt some engine oil into #1, and if compression comes way up, rings are shot. if no or little change, valve(s) are the culprit. a vacuum guage is an elegant and inexpensive diagnostic tool useful for the getting a fix on ring and valve operation.

there are so many other things that could cause stalling at lights that i would be very careful not to jump to conclusions. vacuum leaks, fouled plugs, and on and on, could be causing the stalling.
