He is probably not going to rent a Westy for a cross country trip. It is just too much wear and tear on the van since most people only have two weeks for vacation and want to go to California and back. If you have ever tried this it is not a fun trip (too fast to get any real fun in) and flogging a waterboxer westy for 14 days isn't exactly healthy for things (like going 80 mph for 20 hours straight just so you can get to California faster). The rentals are aimed at the East Coast tours and possibly some trips to Eastern Canada. If you want to go to California you could just fly out that way and rent a Westy from Califoria Campers and then fly back. A much nicer way to spend two weeks than driving back and forth (IMHO).

I was looking for a rental biz like this back in 2001 when planning my cross-country trip... since I couldn't find anyone renting westies in the east, I ended up goign with the "buy one, travel the country, sell it" plan. All went well except for the "sell it' part of the plan. :-)
