Don,

I'm still roaring at this post.

3 automatic Vans,all in perfect state of tune, unloaded, the tires rock hard, with a tailwind, at the snails pace of 55 mph, the best ever mpg, I ever got out of any of them was 15.62.

Maybe your running Slick 50 or some other miracle in a can in your van, that I'm not.--:)

It's weird though, my last fill up on my 1988 Vanagon GL (automatic) the van took exactly 13 gallons (OK, I topped it to 13 gallons, it wanted to cut off before) and went 235.9 miles, for 18.1 miles per gallon. I've verified the odometer against my GPS...I must be driving it wrong. Must be a fluke, normally it only gets 17 MPG. Don in Reidsville, NC>>
