Thought this might be of interest to the folks who are looking for WIFI
resources around the country.

Also, for those who want to be able to speak with friends/family from
whereever you might be ... you might want to consider getting your amateur
radio operator's license.  Contact one of your local ham radio clubs to
receive training and to take the exam or visit www.arrl.net to identify ham
clubs throughout North America where you can receive training and take the
exams.

And, if you hear N1PDL ranging across the ham bands ... give a shout and say
HI there Westy from Vermont.

This came in from a ham radio friend here in Vermont who travels the east
coast a lot ... He sent this along in response to my forwarded note about
Starbucks' wireless installations at each of their North American sites.

Another person wrote to say that one has to purchase a starbucks product in
order to acquire an access card to use their service.  She also wrote
recommending community libraries as free wireless services.

You might want to share this with your friends.  When I travel, I use these
websites (Google for more) to find "free" or "pay" WIFI sites
http://www.jiwire.com  or http://www.wififreespot.com
http://mobile.yahoo.com/wifi
Drive down any neighborhood.  Most people do not shut off the broadcast
feature on their home WIFI.  In Burlington, Adelphia checks the student
ghetto, to suggest and show how, to shut off this feature.  Most tell them
to go to hell and let their neighbors have free internet.
