Does anyone know a source for the older style Vanagon outside sliding door
handle (specifically 1983). This is the handle is a bit longer than the outside
 handle on the later Vanagons. The part number is 251 843 704.

It is no longer available from VW. And while I found it in some aftermarket
on-line catalogues, the vendors I have contacted have said they don't have
anymore. Of course I'd even entertain buying from VW dealer if someone had  an
idea who might have one on a shelf.
