I have.

With apologies to Douglas Adams, Volkswagen wiring is the third worst in the universe.

The second worst is, as you pointed out, LUCAS. Joseph Lucas, the Prince of Darkness himself once said "Gentlemen do not motor after dark." His company's products have enforced that notion ever since. That said, I think that Satch Carlson may have been on to something when he noted that Britan is a small island, and all of the indigenous electrons are now seriously in-bred. This explains, in no small part, why perfectly good Bosch components become irretrievably flakey when installed in Aston Martins.

The worst wiring in the universe, however, is not Lucas, but Magneti Marelli. I am at a loss to describe the joy that is working on a 60's Lancia, or a Ferrari of any vintage. Fortunately, these cars rarely stay running until dark, making the point moot.

(Hey, it's Friday, right?)
