Yeah, I looked over the pics in the bentley and see what you mean. I actually already have the unit partially disassembled, down to where I can see the two ends of the 2nd gear band and the piston shaft wedged up over the band end. I couldn't pull the 2nd gear drum out yesterday, but I'm hoping I can weasel it loose if I loosen the adjuster like you say. My main concern is with what I broke. The one part I got out is a small rectangular wafer with a channel milled across it. It's not visibly broken, so it apparently was being held in by what broke. I can see the edge of the broken piece and, from the rough texture of the break, it appears to have been part of a cast part(rather than forged/milled). My guess is that it's a piece of the case. Probably a critical piece which renders the case unusable. I'm always very diligent when I break something and make sure I render the as much of the device inoperable as possible with the least amount of effort. :)
