I've been running 90/10 for just over 25 years. Not as purty as polished SS, but it will even outlive the fittings and it is a hell-of-a-lot easier to work than SS. Probably the ideal hookup would be 90/10 with SS endo's, i.e., as long as the two are not far apart on a Galvanic compatibility chart.

The only time I have ever had a brake line rupture was in a Vanagon. I think Vanagons must have been designed to a standard - the old 100 Kmi then unload it standard. That's about the life of the engine before leakdom and the transaxle before queefdom.
