I personally use a Klein Tools crimper/cutter like this : <http://www.tools-plus.com/kle1006.html>. It still has the same problem with having to be careful with the cutter tips, but at least the crimper isn't UNDER the joint like those cheapie chinese crimpers. The Klein Tools version of the cheap crimper (model 1000 series, I think?) actually has the crimp jaws alone ABOVE the joint and the cutter/stripper below. If you look around, you can find a cheap version set up the same way. > i'd like to know how folks crimp various wires behind and above the fuse > block (installing relays and such). i can snip just fine, but since the > crimping feature on most wire tools is on the inside of the hinge > (nearer the handles), it's nearly impossible to shove the tool in far > enough to crimp. plus, you run the risk of snipping something important > when the cutting end is buried deep inside. |
