Subject:      Mystery battery drain solved!

My primary aux battery was mysteriously dropping to 8.5 volts overnight randomly. I put an ammeter on it to check draw and it was only 200ma, way to low to draw down even a weak battery. Decided to put the ammeter on a switch to check the draw when the battery was doing its draw downs. Twice I had no change and was starting to bang my head. Today it did it again but I caught the draw down at about 10.5 volts and switched the ammeter on and blew the protection circuit out of my 10 amp meter.

Started checking each lead from the battery fuse panel for that battery. The mystery draw down was my power amp. Somehow it was locking on even with the remote sense being off. Took five times of turning on and turning it off to get it to happen again.

Just a note for those power amp users of something else to add to the list of mysterious battery drains.
