The bumper on the vanagon is nothing but a decoration in the front and the rear. The difference between the front and the rear is the inner bumper on the front. A little over 1/8 inch steel 4 inch box tube attached directly to the front frame. Remove the end caps of your bumper on front and take a look what the decorations are hiding. jimt
