I see now that there is a mistake or 2 in the Bentley wiring diagram for the 1985 brake warning light circuit. If you look at the 1984 and 1986 diagrams for that area of the wiring an error becomes obvious in the 1985 diagram. The "L" lead from the seat belt warning relay is missing entirely in the1985 diagram and the wire that should be going from there to the seat belt light is mistakenly shown as connected to one of the brake warning switches instead but the switch it comes from is not labeled. Good luck with this one!

You did not mention any dash changes in your recent repair efforts but one thing to keep in mind is that the brake/seatbelt warning light assembly is not interchangeable from earlier years to the 85+ dash. If neither your fluid level switch or your parking brake switch are causing your dash warning light to be on I would seriously wonder if someone may have put the earlier brake warning light assembly in your dash.
