"does anyone have any plans or pics of wood center consoles they have made themselves or purchased somewhere?"

Contact Leon Korkin in L.A. He's a master cabinet maker and has redone his entire interior, to include the dash, a console and all the rear cabinets. He can lead you in the right direction.

One of the reasons his worked out so well is that he cut about 8" on the length of the shift linkage. This puts the base of the shifter location on the floor back farther (8") and he has more room up there for the console. Very cool mods!

He's active on the subaruvanagon list. Try him there if you're interested in picking his brains.

Bob
