My dad gave me a ladder that a neighbor gave him. It came from a camper, made to lean against the upper bunk for access. It weights about one pound, I'm not kidding, and it is the perfect height to lean against and access the westy bunk. We only carry it when traveling with daughter and granddaughter, bungeed to the opening above the passenger front seat.

Try an RV store.
