Subject: Q's about converting an '89 Auto to 4spd?
Content-Type: text/plain; charset=us-ascii

Found a 1989 Vanagon locally here, it runs well but the Auto tranny is shot. What is required to convert this to a 4spd? Does the year/model the manual tranny is from matter? And lastly has anyone done this, and how hard was it? I consider myself fairly mechanical but I've never converted anything automatic to anything manual. Thanks for any help or suggestions you can offer.
