I normally consider those disposable.
I buy tru arc piers and fine tune the tips with a hand file to get the right
"slight" bump or angle to grip the tiny clip holes.
It's also helpful to get the piston moved to the side so the wrist pin is
slightly away from the clip and the plier pins will go all the way through.
If the wrist pin is up against the clip it makes the job five times harder.
