I just did this while I was replacing the canvas, so I had the whole poptop off the vehicle (makes it SOOO much easier.) I used a solution to kill mildew (had lots of it - came that way, due to poor care by the PO) and then simply hosed it down and let it dry. Looks like new. The local paint store hands out the "magic formula" - 3 quarts warm water, 1 quart bleach, 1/3 cup TSP, 3/4 cup laundry detergent (they specified brand names [Clorox and Tide] for the bleach and detergent, but I doubt that it would make any difference.)

Happy cleaning,

Gabriel '84 Westy, Nor Cal Sierras
