Then why did the problem go away when I changed the oil filter to a Mahle?
And its has been running fine for the last 1K mile

This happened right after I put new heads on her.  So the oil on Phram was
new and so was the filter.  Then the oil buzzer so I changed the filter and
no buzzer.  I haven't been towing my boat or any trailering across country
coast to coast with this engine as with the two previous engines.  I suspect
I still have 60k mile on this engine.

If you feel that an oil filter will set off low oil pressure buzzer's--
That's good.

If an engine doesn't have enough oil pressure to push the oil through a
paper filter--you have problems--big problems.

Fram, Sears, Gamble's, Oilzite, STP, Montgmery Wards, Mahle, Mann,
Warshawsky's, Pennsoil, K-Mart, XYZ  whatever.

The filtering paper on the better filter's capture more small particles.
Better filtering paper.
So if you were having problems with a no bypass Fram low dollar filter
you'd have the same thing with the upper crust catch it all filter's.

The tighter the paper, the more oil pressure it's gonna take to push the
oil through it.

You said the Fram filter caused the oil pressure buzzer to go off--no
oil pressure.

No oil pressure--worn out engine / oil pump.


 
<<The engine isn't worn out. This engine has 90K on the lower end and
about 1K on the upper and the van has 318K. My alarm would go off when
coming off the freeway. I have used Phram in the past but the last
filter was just bad. I would blame more of it on American workmanship at
Phram.
