Didn't receive any replys regarding my problem with my sliding door lock. I'll risk it again.

My sliding Door Lock Mechanism doesn't work properly. Can't lock or unlock the door using the lock of the sliding door. But I can lock or unlock all the doors (including the sliding door) from the front doors? Can this be fixed?

Also, the lock mechanism of my cargo door was changed by the previous owner so now I need two keys to unlock the doors of the westy. Is this supposed to be a power lock too? right now it isn't. My guess is that the previous owner had installed a regular lock mecanism and it's not correctly insalled.

The main problem with his installation is that the cargo door can't be permanently unlock. I need the key each time I want to open the door. It won't stay unlock. This is very annoying.

JP, your message is confusing, I suppose that's why no one has responded. I will give it a whirl. I am presuming your van has the power door locks. Right ? So, if that's true then yes all the locks should lock and unlock when using the key to activate the lock from either front door. The sliding door lock will only lock & unlock itself same for the rear hatch. Now you say you cannot unlock the slider with the key but you don't explain what's occurring. Does the key go in the lock and turn ? If it turns what occurs ? If it turns and the lock is not activated then the lock has become disconnected from the actuator inside. You will have to remove the inner door panel and investigate. If the sliding door lock is able to be locked and unlocked from the front door lock that means the electric lock system is working correctly and the problem is a mechanical issue inside the sliding door. The problem of having a different key for the sliding door lock is not related to the lock ~ unlock problem your having. You can have the sliding door lock re-keyed by a locksmith to match your other door locks. Hope this helps but it's hard without having more precise information from you.

Cheers,
