Subject: Choosing the best Pressure Plate (straight edge)
Content-Type: text/plain; charset=us-ascii

Yes, getting close to having the new/used engine in the van.

I have a nice clutch disk now (Thanks Shawn!) and will have the choice of, count 'em, THREE presumably good used pressure plates. (Thanks Shawn & Kim!)

Assuming the fingers are healthy, Bentley talks about measuring the out-of-flatness across the face of the plate, cuz the inner radius of the plate is less worn or summpin' than the outside.

I have to put a super duper straight edge long enough to fit across the whole disk onto the disk, then stick feeler gauges underneath. What do y'all use as your super duper straight edge? I'd rather not go out and buy one just for this. Well, OK, I would, but I can't afford it.
