<<dhaynes@OPTONLINE.NET(Dennis Hayn Most real propane tanks have gauges-float operated. The Westy tank is too small for a gauge as the float would take up a significant part of its capacity and there is no port in the side for it.>> Right on. That portable tank gauge won't last very log sticking out behind the L/H front wheel either. Exposed to the elements and especially with the wheel wash blowing right on the face of that gauge, how long do you think you'll actually be able to read it? Not too long. The gauge will milk out in no time. Another bad idea. If the gauge was mounted inboard, in the Van somewhere, ( like a real RV with a led readout panel ) then it would be a good idea. But seeing as you won't be able to get an accurate reading depending on the ambient temperature anyway, why bother? The engineering department blatantly failed on this Rube set up. RC |
