Roger, not to be rude, but have you actually gone through this process? I have to completely disagree with you.

Just about a month ago, i replaced all the chrome strips on my '84 and not a single window was removed. Now, this isn't to say it is the easiest thing in the world, but it is most definitely doable.

Just get the strips, get the installation tool, and get some patience.
