If oil is getting down the valve guides, build can happen quickly. Driving habits can also add to this. I use the Techron cleaner. Any of these cleaners can eventually dilute the oil. I would check the inject spray patterns first.

You bring up a good point, Dennis. However, my engine has only 21,000 miles on it. Is it likely to have carbon build-up on the intake valves so soon? I am reluctant to introduce additives of any kind to my engine, but would it be okay to use something like Lubro-Moly Ventil Sauber or some other such valve and injector cleaner every once in a while? Can these additives harm an engine?

Thanks.

Warren
