Subject: Replacement Canvas for Vanagon
Content-Type: text/plain;charset=iso-8859-1

Hey, Volks.

I've just ordered a replacement canvas for my Vanagon. (Thanks, Bus Depot!) My current canvas is in excellent condition but has a series of tears around the front window. It's very fixable, but I figured that as long as I was going to remove the old canvas, I might as well put up new stuff with the extra windows. So, a couple of things. My old canvas may be available to anyone that wishes to reuse it. And, second, does anyone have a good set of directions for the replacement operation.

We're going to be leaving our Winter camp in Florida in a couple weeks and moving back onto the road. I don't think I can get the new canvas done in time to roll. Is this something I can do parked in a campground in North Carolina? I have a good set of hand tools, but no power tools. I also have lots of time once we leave (just none now). Since I haven't received the new canvas, yet, I don't know what the enclosed instructions will be like. I'd love a look at the process before I commit to doing it on the road. Anybody got a set of instructions online? Thanks for any help.

Live well,
