This is one of those projects I get a lot of laughs out of.  Not because it
is funny but extremely ironic.  Just about every major university has a team
working on this one.  The sponsor for the program is DARPA (Defense Advanced
Research Projects Agency).  (Many may not catch this irony) As per the
standard rule on spinoff.  NHTSA and auto designers have also been taking a
very close look at results and designs.
