Well, I tried out the 30 second wait before starting, and lo and behold, no blinking light.

I haven't sat in traffic long enough at this point for it to get too hot, but I was thinking...

The A/C compressor is bad, so I disconnected it, and when I turn the A/C controls on, I see that it also automatically turns on the cooling fan...Until I can scratch up enough dough and time for a new radiator, I'm going to see if I can use that fan for a little extra cooling...Obviously not a wonderful or permanent solution, but hopefully it will get me through the week.

Thanks everyone for your knowledge and suggestions--I do appreciate it very much!

Joe T.
