This list strips attachments. So you can't attach anything, ever. The theory may be since we own a Vanagon already we don't need any more baggage.

Going from round headlights to square headlights is a downgrade. Round headlights give you more options and more affordable options for upgrading visibility. The rectangle lights offer notoriously poor lighting.

If you want to upgrade the look go with a round light South African Grill which includes two extra round driving lights in the set up. the cost is about $300. Otherwise just upgrade the round headlights in the grill you have. Maybe with Hella H4 lights from one of the list vendors. I guess some H4s are not DOT approved. But it seems to me there are upgrades that will offer better lighting and are DOT approved.
