Subject: Getting to the interior light wiring
Content-Type: text/plain; charset=ISO-8859-1; format=flowed

Mellow Yellow's interior upgrading is coming along.

While things are apart I need to improve the lighting. I will pull the over-counter incandescent fixture and replace it with a nice fluorescent fixture that Frank Condelli is sending my way. I will mount a second one somewhere up in the front so the two chairs up there have some light. And a couple of cute little bullet reading lamp/spots are going under the upper bunk to illuminate the lower bunk, where we like to sleep.

I gotta get power to all that. I have a new battery under the driver's seat with an isolation relay so it charges when the alternater is running, and disconnects when it is not. Everything in the cabin is now running off this house battery so I can be confident that the engine battery does not get discharged while camping. Everything, that is, except the existing light fixture over the counter. I need to get to those wires and bring them down to my house battery power panel. I want to re-route them so they run down behind the driver's seat.

This is all a long-winded way of asking one question: does anyone have any wisdom about accessing the two wires that run from the over-counter lamp to the driver's-side door lamp ("INT LITE-F" on p. 97.58 Bentley's Vanagon)?
