Subject: Re: r&r clutch master cylinder Q

Hello, the clutch master cylinder is much easier to replace than it looks. It has been awhile since I did mine, but I dont think the clevis pin needed to be removed.Take the cyl mounting bolts off and pull the cyl away from the pushrod. The rod will hang ok.I used a turkey baster to siphon out the brake fluid from the resivour. The bleeding was the hardest.Dont replace the hose that goes from the resivour to the cyl, as rubber fuel line will not be compatable w/ brake fluid. I pumped and pumped and got nowhere. Finally , by accident, I got this blead(sp). I filled the resivour to the verrrrry top and then it pumped up.Maybe try replacing the cyl while the van is parked on a hill, nose up.The slave cyl is the bit*h,and it is best to replace both at the same time.
