Subject: Re: AW molds safe and sound

Robert,

While the story goes something like this: Eric had expressed interest a year or so ago in making new tops, it seems from his posts that logistics were a problem for him; then Steve decided to make a go of it and ran into family health problems as per his posts; then Stan wanted to get involved put retirement had to be postponed; after having talked with all of the above parties (including Ed) I felt that if any new tops were going to get made, then I needed to step up to the plate and see if I could hit a home run. Now, given that the molds are in my posession, and were never in anyone else's posession except for Ed's, it seems I have a greater chance at having new tops made than anyone else that has expressed interest in the past. This is especially so, seeing that I have an 82 westy and want a new high top for my van and don't forsee any problems with having more tops made. We all have to remember that economics of scale drive cost down. I'll do my part by starting a new business and offering new high tops for sale and installation. Everyone else is going to have to do their part and order a new top for your beloved van by making a firm comitment to purchase a new high top from me. Once the business is up and running I have a better idea of what the price will be for the new tops.

Cheers,

Robert H.
